We are serious about authenticity and observe a zero-tolerance policy.
Products eligible for shipping optimization by Cahoot must be authentic. The use of Cahoot shipping labels to ship counterfeit products is strictly prohibited. Failure to abide by this policy may result in loss of Cahoot privileges, penalty assessments, and legal action, up to and including civil penalties and criminal fines. Prohibited products include bootlegs, fakes, blemished items, expiration dates fewer than 90 days from the delivery date to a customer (excluding applicable consumption periods), or pirated copies of products (products that have been illegally replicated, reproduced, or manufactured), and products that infringe another party’s intellectual property rights.
Cahoot accounts that receive a counterfeit accusation will be immediately suspended pending an investigation. You will be asked to supply the following information for each ASIN:
- Plan of action including the steps you took to resolve the issue and prevent similar complaints in the future, not just how you will react to them. Demonstrate how you’ll regularly inspect your inventory to confirm its authenticity or that you’ll source these products from a different supplier. Do not limit your plan to issues with specific orders.
- Copies of invoices or receipts from your supplier (excluding retailers such as Walmart, Target, etc.) issued in the last 365 days. These should reflect your sales volume during that time.
- Contact information for your supplier, including name, phone number, address, and website.
- You can send .pdf, .jpg, .png, or .gif files. These documents must be authentic and unaltered. We may call your supplier to verify the documents. You may remove pricing information, but the rest of the document must be visible. We will maintain the confidentiality of your supplier’s contact information.
We review all appeals carefully. However, submission of an appeal does not guarantee reinstatement of your Cahoot privileges.
